Do you only supply materials or also handle installation for government projects?
MMT Acoustix® primarily manufactures and supplies acoustic and soundproofing systems along with detailed installation guidance. On most government and PSU projects, civil and MEP contractors appointed by the department execute the work, while we support them with drawings, method statements and remote technical coordination.
Can your products meet government and consultant fire & safety requirements?
Yes. Our products such as SoundBlanket® MLV, BassBloc®, PET panels and wood wool boards are backed by relevant ASTM / EN fire tests and technical data. We share datasheets, test reports and compliance documentation for consultant review and tender submittals as part of the project process.
Are wood wool and PET felt panels suitable for high-traffic public spaces?
Wood wool boards are widely used worldwide in schools, sports halls, metro stations and auditoriums due to their durability and fire performance. PET felt panels offer a softer, fabric-like look with good acoustic absorption. Both can be detailed for high-traffic areas with appropriate edge protections and cleaning protocols.
How does SoundBlanket® and BassBloc® compare to traditional thick mineral wool layers?
SoundBlanket® MLV and BassBloc® are engineered to deliver high sound isolation and absorption in relatively thin, compact layers. In many build-ups, they reduce the need for very thick mineral wool, lower installation complexity and optimise the overall wall thickness – which can be critical in government buildings and retrofits.
Can acoustic systems be retrofitted in existing government buildings without major demolition?
Yes. Many of our systems are designed to be installed over existing walls and ceilings. PET panels, wood wool boards, baffles, carpets and even SoundBlanket® linings can be introduced with minimal demolition, provided the underlying structure is sound. We typically propose phased installation so that operations continue with minimal disruption.
What information do you need to start designing a solution for a government project?
At a basic level, we need project drawings (plans, sections), information on room usage, approximate dimensions, construction type, known noise issues and any target acoustic criteria (RT, STC, NC etc.) if already defined by the consultant. From there, our team can propose systems, quantities and budgetary estimates.
Are custom colours and finishes possible for public-facing interiors?
Yes. PET panels, wooden slats, baffles and even some wood wool finishes can be customised in colour and pattern, subject to minimum order quantities. This is particularly useful for premium auditoriums, metro stations, assembly halls and reception areas that must align with brand or institutional colours.

What documentation do government and PSU acoustic tenders require?
Test reports against the standard named in the tender, usually ASTM C423 for absorption and ASTM E90 for transmission loss, plus fire classification, a manufacturer certificate and GST and registration details. MMTPL supplies all of these as a compliance pack.
Which government project types need acoustic treatment?
Auditoriums and multi-purpose halls, metro stations and transit hubs, administrative offices, courtrooms, and technical and utility zones such as plant rooms and generator enclosures.
Why is speech intelligibility the key metric in public buildings?
Because the building fails its purpose if announcements or proceedings cannot be understood. In transit hubs and courtrooms intelligibility, not loudness, is what is being specified, and it is controlled by reverberation time and background noise level together.
How is structure-borne vibration handled on government sites?
At the source. Plant is mounted on anti-vibration mounts or inertia bases so the energy never enters the structure. Once vibration is in the slab it radiates as noise several rooms away and no amount of surface treatment there will fix it.
