MMT Acoustix environmental and sustainability initiatives

For Our Environment and Planet

At MMT Acoustix, we believe that responsible manufacturing goes hand in hand with innovation. Our commitment extends beyond creating high-performance acoustics: we strive to reduce environmental impact, conserve natural resources and contribute meaningfully to a cleaner, sustainable planet.

Our Green Initiatives
1. 100% Solar-Powered Office

Our corporate office runs entirely on clean solar energy, reducing dependence on conventional electricity.

This transition prevents more than 25 tons of CO₂ emissions every year, supporting a cleaner ecosystem.

2. Solar-Powered Manufacturing

Our manufacturing unit generates 30% of its electricity from solar power, significantly lowering our carbon footprint.

Our long-term goal is to expand solar infrastructure and move toward majority renewable energy usage.

3. Rainwater Harvesting

Our advanced harvesting systems help us capture and reuse thousands of litres of rainwater every year.

These systems also assist in recharging local groundwater tables in regions facing water scarcity.

4. Tree Plantation

We have planted over 2,100 trees across rural and industrial zones to support green cover expansion.

Our plantation drives improve air quality, bolster biodiversity and foster resilient ecosystems.

5. Recycling & Sustainable Manufacturing

Foam Recycling for BassBloc®

Each 4 kg BassBloc® absorber is manufactured entirely from recycled acoustic foam.

With an annual output of 15,000 units, we repurpose nearly 60,000 kg of foam, preventing landfill accumulation.

PET Recycling for Felt Panels

We produce over 20,000 felt panels each year, each panel made using recycled PET fibres.

This enables the recycling of nearly 120,000 kg of PET annually, equivalent to 6 million plastic bottles.

Vinyl Recycling for MLV

We repurpose vinyl waste to manufacture high-density Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV), enabling a more sustainable alternative to traditional soundproofing solutions.

Our Ongoing Commitment

We continue to push the boundaries of responsible manufacturing:

Increasing the share of renewable energy in our facilities within the next five years.

Scaling our annual tree plantation targets to double our current contribution.

Enhancing recyclable product lines and adopting near-zero waste manufacturing processes.

Installing additional rainwater harvesting structures across industrial and community zones.

“Each BassBloc®, each felt panel, and every MLV sheet reflects our belief that performance and sustainability can, and must, coexist.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What are MMT Acoustix's environmental initiatives?

A 100% solar-powered office, solar-powered manufacturing, rainwater harvesting, tree plantation, and recycling and sustainable manufacturing practices across the production process.

Are MMT Acoustix products made from recycled material?

Echsorbix PET felt is manufactured from polyester fibre, a material family that supports recycled content and is itself recyclable at end of life. Recycling and sustainable manufacturing are part of the production process rather than a claim about a single product.

Are the products safe for indoor air quality?

PET felt carries UL GREENGUARD certification for low VOC emission, which is what allows it into occupied spaces such as schools, hospitals and offices where indoor air quality is specified alongside acoustics.

Is the manufacturing solar-powered?

The office runs on 100% solar power and solar generation is used in manufacturing, alongside rainwater harvesting at the plant.

Does sustainability affect acoustic performance?

No. The certified figures are unchanged: absorption tested to ASTM C423 and EN ISO 354, transmission loss to ASTM E90. Sustainability is addressed in how the material is made and what it emits, not by relaxing what it has to achieve.
